Building his vision for independent film

For Rennix “Ren” Leo, filmmaking is about more than delivering a finished product. It is an opportunity to bring powerful stories to the screen while creating an environment where talented people can develop their craft and contribute to something larger.

Through Mirrorvision Films and Mirrorvision Entertainment, Ren brings together storytelling, production, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to emerging talent. With experience in music production, screenwriting, directing, and producing, he understands the many creative elements required to transform an idea into a completed production.

From music to motion pictures

Before and alongside his work in film, music production expanded Ren’s understanding of creativity, collaboration, and entertainment. Recording in New Orleans as Big Ren, his 2002 album That Streets Won’t Let Me Go credits him in writing, production, and executive production.

Music and filmmaking share the same fundamentals: emotion, rhythm, storytelling, timing, atmosphere, and the ability to connect with an audience. As a screenwriter he develops the story. As a director he shapes the vision. As a producer he organizes the resources to execute it. And as an entrepreneur he looks beyond a single film toward a sustainable entertainment company.

Filmmaker & entrepreneur

Independent filmmaking demands more than artistic vision — it requires an understanding of budgets, production schedules, talent development, networking, marketing, distribution, and the practical realities of bringing projects from concept to completion. Ren approaches every project with both a creative and an entrepreneurial mindset.

He has spoken about producing quality films efficiently while developing a consistent pipeline of projects that generate ongoing opportunities for actors and production crews. Rather than measuring success by a single production, he is building the infrastructure to keep creating.

Relationships & industry growth

Relationships remain central to Ren’s journey. Among his personal connections is basketball legend and entertainment entrepreneur Shaquille O’Neal, whom Ren counts among his friends. Ren is also a client of eZWay Promotions, which is expanding awareness of his work, upcoming projects, and the growing Mirrorvision brand.

Film is a team-driven medium, and Ren believes meaningful professional relationships are just as important as technical expertise.

The next chapter

Ren continues building Mirrorvision around a straightforward but ambitious goal: create memorable stories and create opportunities for talented people to help tell them. As founder of Mirrorvision Films and CEO of Mirrorvision Entertainment, he is positioning the company for continued growth within Atlanta and Georgia’s larger production community.

The next chapter is about execution — taking ideas from the page to the screen, expanding the Mirrorvision catalog, developing new talent, and creating films audiences genuinely connect with. For Ren, success is not simply seeing his own name in the credits. It is creating opportunities for others to see their names there too.
